Beulah/Monterey PW members met via Webex on Thursday, September 14, for Bible Study.  Our Bible study for 2023-2024 is Sacred Encounters:  The Power and Presence of Jesus Christ in Luke-Acts by Olive Mahabir.  Norma Reynolds led September’s lesson, “Elizabeth’s Sacred Encounter”.  This lesson was based on Luke 1:1-24; 39-45.  The main idea is “God calls us to make ourselves available for God’s purpose.”

The PW group will meet via WebEx on Thursday, October 12, at 1:00 p.m. to study lesson 2, “The Exorcism in Gerasa.”  “This encounter reveals to us the ways in which Jesus is present with people who live without the support of their communities due to rejection, confusion, and fear.  Despite our society’s tendency to isolate people who are struggling, lesson two challenges us to trust that no illness—physical, spiritual, or mental—has the power to exclude anyone from the saving grace of Jesus.” (pg. 27, Lesson 2, Sacred Encounters)  Lesson 2 will be led by Retired Teaching Elder, Bill Cox.
