In 2019, an 18′ x 24′ pavilion was erected west of the church’s fellowship hall and kitchen. Church member Tate Dunn had approached the session of Monterey Presbyterian Church about partially funding a pavilion in memory of her late husband, Bob Dunn. The church agreed to pay for one-third of the project and Tate, along with family and friends of Bob, funded the remaining amount.
By December 2020, all debts were paid, and the church and community had a new pavilion, which is available for use by the public at no cost thanks to a grant from the Little Swiss Fund.
The welcoming structure includes a working fireplace, ceiling fans, lights, and electrical outlets on each post, so it is usable for more months out of the year. It is handicap accessible and adjoins a large parking lot, offering the church opportunities for more community outreach and fellowship.
